Sensory Integration (SI) is a treatment methodology that Pediatric OTs utilize. Sensory–based activities are used to provide the “just-right” challenge to assist the child in improving their functioning and provide success. Pediatric OTs specializing in sensory integration, work on improving a child’s ability to detect, regulate, interpret and execute appropriate motor and behavioral responses. In turn this improves a child’s attention, organizational skills and motor output, to allow the child to perform in their occupation of playing or being a student.
